For general theme compositions, it typically takes about 1-2 weeks, and for topline work, it takes around 1 week. Additionally, for album planning, if there is more than a month of preparation time, I can deliver the best possible results. 일반적인 테마 작곡의 경우 1-2주일 정도 소요되며, 탑라인의 경우 1주일 소요 됩니다. 또한 앨범 기획의 경우엔 1개월 이상의 여유가 있다면 최상의 결과물을 공유할 수 있습니다.

녹음 환경과 장비는 무엇인가요?

I mainly use Logic Pro and Ableton Live. For recording, I have basic facilities available for guide recordings, but final recordings need to be done in a separate studio. Logic Pro, Ableton Live 를 주로 사용합니다. 녹음의 경우에는 기본적인 레코딩 시설을 갖추고 있어 가이드 녹음까지 가능하며, 본녹음은 별도의 스튜디오에서 진행해야 합니다.

작업유형에 따라 평균 비용은 어떻게 되나요?

The rates are 300,000 KRW for vocal featuring, 500,000 KRW for topline writing, 2,000,000 KRW for general composition, and 3,000,000 KRW for album planning. 어떤 뮤지션을 좋아하고, 어떤 음악을 추구하나요?

When I was young, every time I visited my cousin's house, he would always play Michael Jackson and "Seo Taiji and Boys" on LP. Even though I didn’t know much about music back then, I could tell their music was truly amazing. Those experiences piled up and made me think, "Someday, I want to be an artist who makes awesome music too!" I listened to Michael Jackson's "Rock with You" and Seo Taiji and Boys' "Victory(필승)" a lot. During my teenage years, listening to Musiq Soulchild's music on my way home was one of my greatest pleasures. I loved the grooviness and coolness that was hard to find in K-pop at the time. I also felt proud that I knew an artist my peers weren’t familiar with. His voice was flashy yet memorable, and I particularly liked "For the Night." I want to sing about the wide spectrum of emotions we experience in daily life. However, I don’t want to let go of joy, hope, and confidence, even in songs that talk about deep sadness or anger. We all have our own life stories, and with them come inevitable hardships and pain. But that’s exactly why joy, hope, and confidence are so essential. Without that balance, life would be too bleak and meaningless. Through my music, I hope that people all around the world can find their own sense of joy, hope, and confidence. I think 'music has to be seen', so I'm going to make sure to make a music video or visualizer if possible. (Of course, that's why there's financial pressure, but...Hahaha) In this single "Satellite," I tried to express the meaning of the song through a music video that shows a heroine living her daily life. It would be good enough to just enjoy the song, but I'm sure it would be much better if you enjoy it with the music video. Please look forward to it. :-) 제가 어렸을 때 부터 사촌 형의 집에 놀러가면 늘 Michael Jackson 그리고 ‘서태지와 아이들’의 음악을 LP로 틀어주었어요. 아무것도 모르는 제가 들어도 그들의 음악은 정말 멋졌고, 그런 경험들이 쌓여서 ‘언젠가 나도 멋진 음악을 만드는 아티스트가 되어야지!’ 라고 생각했던 것 같아요. 이 일을 한지는 얼마나 되었고 보통 어떤 작업을 하나요?

I'd like to emphasize the genius aspect of being born with talent, but actually not so long ago, I was just an average person who loved music. However, I liked singing and music quite a bit, given that I like to be in public, sang at talent shows and school festivals, and often sang songs suggested by people around me who remember me. After quitting my first job, I set up a complex of coffee, food, and cultural programs, and invested some of the profits in indie musicians and directors making diverse films. One day, when I had been stimulated and impressed by many artists struggling to achieve their dreams by planning cultural programs in three spaces, one sentence in my diary, "What Is My Dream," was enough to heat up something that had been hidden. The fact that I released my first single "NO FANTASY" with the help of people in the depths of the breakup that happened to me was the direct trigger for the artist LMST to be born. Currently, I am in charge of sales at an IT company. I've been busy thinking about and implementing strategies to convince people, but I still have no hesitation in turning into an LMST when the sun goes down. And like Spider-Man, I'm more bold and sensual and funny and sexy...Yes. Anyway, it's full of charms that I don't know for some reason. And I'm going to continue doing the music that I want to do. I want to convey my various aspects in an honest and sophisticated manner in line with the changing life and time. And I'm sure the stories in the music are in touch with the self-portraits of ordinary people who have dreams in their hearts. 타고난 재능이 있다는 천재적인 면모를 강조하고 싶지만 사실 얼마 전까지만 해도 저는 그저 음악을 좋아하는 보통 사람일 뿐이었습니다. 다만 남 앞에 나서길 좋아하고 장기 자랑과 학교 축제 때 노래를 불렀으며 그런 저를 기억해 주는 주변 사람들이 제안한 축가를 종종 했던 것을 보면, 노래하는 것 그리고 음악을 꽤나 좋아했던 것은 확실합니다. 첫 직장을 그만두고 나와 커피, 음식, 문화 프로그램이 어우러진 복합공간을 차리고 그 수익의 일부를 인디 뮤지션과 다양성 영화를 만드는 감독님들께 투자했습니다. 세 개 공간의 문화 프로그램을 직접 기획하며 만난 꿈을 위해 고군분투하시는 많은 아티스트들을 통해 많은 자극과 감명을 받아 왔던 어느 날, 일기장에 적힌 ‘내 꿈은 무엇일까'라는 한 문장은 숨겨왔던 무언가를 달구기에 충분했습니다. 그때 마침(?) 찾아온 이별의 구렁텅이에서 주변의 도움을 받아 첫 싱글 [NO FANTASY]를 내게 된 것이 아티스트 LMST이 탄생한 직접적인 계기가 되었습니다. 현재는 한 회사에서 영업을 총괄하는 일을 하고 있습니다. 사람들을 설득하는 전략을 고민하고 실행하느라 정신없이 바쁜 나날들을 보내지만, 여전히 저는 해가 지면 LMST로 변신하는 데에 주저함이 없습니다. 그리고 스파이더맨이 그렇듯, 변신한 저는 한층 더 과감하고 감각적이며 재밌고 섹시하기도 하고…네. 암튼 왠지 모를 매력이 넘칩니다. 그리고 그런 모습의 제가 하고 싶은 음악을 계속 해 나갈겁니다. 그 과정에서 본캐와 부캐의 무게 추가 달라질 수도 있겠죠? 변해가는 삶과 시간에 맞춰 저의 다양한 모습을 솔직하면서도 세련되게 전해드리고 싶습니다. 그리고 그 음악에 묻어나는 이야기들은, 가슴속에 꿈을 가진 평범한 이들의 자화상과 닿아 있을 것이라고 확신합니다.

I’m open to any form of collaboration because I believe working with diverse individuals is a great opportunity for personal growth and development. I think most of my music starts with 'the worry and impatience I feel in my daily life'. It comes from worrying about the fundamental questions that everyone has, such as whether “Am I doing well?” “Where am I going?” , “what I'll be like in the future?” But I don't want to take them too seriously or talk negatively. Everyone is worried, but I want to capture the hope that eventually they will find their own answers. I hope that people who listen to my music can come up with and find their own "something" in their respective daily lives. Just like my name LENNY MAKES SOME-THING means, I hope anyone can make something. 어떠한 형태의 어떠한 협업도 열려있습니다. 다양한 분들과의 협업은 저를 성장시키는 좋은 경험이라고 생각하기 때문입니다. 제 음악의 대부분은 ‘일상 속에서 느껴지는 걱정과 조바심'에서 출발하는 것 같아요. 내가 잘 살아가고 있는지, 나는 어디로 가는지, 앞으로 나는 어떻게 될지 등등 누구나 가지고 사는 근원적인 의문에 대한 고민에서 비롯되죠. 하지만 그것들을 너무나 심각하게 풀어내거나, 부정적으로 이야기하고 싶지는 않아요. 누구나 고민은 하지만, 결국엔 그들만의 답을 찾아낼 수 있을 거라는 희망을 담아내고 싶죠. 제 음악을 듣는 분들이 각각의 일상 속에서 자신만의 ‘무언가'를 떠올리고 찾아낼 수 있길 바랍니다.
